"powered by piwigo" "add a comment"

Evening all,

I have Comments activated on my site, I have also activated the captcha plugin to cut down on the amount of spam. I validate them as well. I seem to get loads of spam on it.

So while looking though googles webmaster tools I looked at the most common search term for finding my site and it was,

"powered by piwigo" "add a comment"

600 impressions so far.

I feel I might need to adjust the powered by and add comment.

I wondered if anyone has any suggestions on how we can try and cut this down, SPAM is a PITA.

Hi
You can change the language values using Localfiles editor if you think these words are targeted

Re: "powered by piwigo" "add a comment"

Thanks Flop,

That what I was thinking of doing. But its a pain that they keep doing this. I might just use a image rather than the text of "Powered by Piwigo". Might even change the "Add a comment" to an image as well.

Oh you was asking for a change in the Piwigo core? Replacing text by picture will not change anything
Spamer will still find a way to identify piwigo galleries and use form

Hi :-)

To limit spams you ca use [extension by mistic100] Crypto Captcha

Most spam today are written by humans, difficult to avoid :-(

Re: "powered by piwigo" "add a comment"

You can also use in local config

// maximum number of links in a comment before it is qualified spam
$conf['comment_spam_max_links'] = 0;

with 0 link the number spam decreases

Re: "powered by piwigo" "add a comment"

Thank you ddtddt, I was already using Crypto Captcha, its odd that they can get past that but I assume some are human spammers. But I have added the extra config line. Hope this cuts some of them out.

Flop, it was not a feature request it was more to ask how others have already dealt with the SPAM issue.

I was just surprised that they were using those search terms to find piwigo websites. Like I said I might just alter the text or change them into images.
