In the past I remember talk about having Piwigo report back with information about the software setup on servers.

I also remember that I was decided not to do this as some of the tin foil hat brigade don't like the idea of it.

So would it be useful to have it as a plugin then it can be optional for members to install it. This could aid the developers with information on the amount of images galleries are using, the amount of tag etc.
