[resolved] full crash on update

I am f*cked here. Tried to update to the latest cversion, now all is poof.

HELP please?! all I get is a blank page now; http://kerstdorpen.nl/catalog3/ no way to reach any piwigo screens.

Warning: touch() [function.touch]: Utime failed: Operation not permitted in /home/kerstdorp/domains/kerstdorpen.nl/public_html/catalog3/admin/include/pclzip.lib.php on line 3856

Warning: touch() [function.touch]: Utime failed: Operation not permitted in /home/kerstdorp/domains/kerstdorpen.nl/public_html/catalog3/admin/include/pclzip.lib.php on line 3856

Fatal error: Call to undefined function smarty_core_rm_auto() in /home/kerstdorp/domains/kerstdorpen.nl/public_html/catalog3/include/smarty/libs/Smarty.class.php on line 1030

can I backtrack or update "from the outside"? or did I just loose 10 years of work and 10000+ pics?

Re: [resolved] full crash on update

Hello
you can update manually to avoid this: if it's a minor update (2.x.y->2.x.(y+1)) you can just overwrite all the files. If it's a major one follow our upgrade guide in "Basics"
you also can avoid this, by setting your server correctly: this seems to be a permission issue. Php can't 'touch' files

Re: [resolved] full crash on update

that would imply I know what version I was running... any way to figure that out after this update-crash?

Re: [resolved] full crash on update

If you don't know perform a 'full' manual upgrade: http://piwigo.org/basics/upgrade_manual

Re: [resolved] full crash on update

uhoh

by deletingt the _data directory (as per instruction

Remove all files of your current Piwigo installation, with the following exceptions, do NOT delete these directories:

    galleries
    upload
    plugins
    template-extension
    local

)

I have lost all of my pictures, right?

and, by the same rule, I have also lost my themes, correct?

---
manual upgrading is not the best way to go I am afraid. But I do have a bugreport now (:) )when somthing goes wrong on the auto-upgrade there is no undo, and no (easy) way to get your galleries back onluine...

Re: [resolved] full crash on update

I followed the manual update instructions, and now I have:

Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "header.tpl" in /home/kerstdorp/domains/kerstdorpen.nl/public_html/catalog3/include/smarty/libs/Smarty.class.php on line 1093

Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "index.tpl" in /home/kerstdorp/domains/kerstdorpen.nl/public_html/catalog3/include/smarty/libs/Smarty.class.php on line 1093

Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "footer.tpl" in /home/kerstdorp/domains/kerstdorpen.nl/public_html/catalog3/include/smarty/libs/Smarty.class.php on line 1093

777'ing the include/ does not help.

---
what are my options here? delete everyting, including the SQL tables stuff and re-install?

no undo, but simply a manual upload solves the issues when files were not correctly downloaded and updated by the system

Did you run the update.php page?

Re: [resolved] full crash on update

Ok
what was your theme? Could you also check the file permissions on /themes/default/template/ files referred in the error?

Re: [resolved] full crash on update

theme was something red. Don't remember its name. I have installed:

clear
dark
default
elegant
montblancxl
smartpocket
sylvia

the permissi0ons were set to 755, I have now set them 777.

I now get:

No upgrade required, the database structure is up to date
← back to gallery

and when I click the back to gallery I (again) see:

Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "header.tpl" in /home/kerstdorp/domains/kerstdorpen.nl/public_html/catalog3/include/smarty/libs/Smarty.class.php on line 1093

Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "index.tpl" in /home/kerstdorp/domains/kerstdorpen.nl/public_html/catalog3/include/smarty/libs/Smarty.class.php on line 1093

Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "footer.tpl" in /home/kerstdorp/domains/kerstdorpen.nl/public_html/catalog3/include/smarty/libs/Smarty.class.php on line 1093

everything in the entire include/ map is set to 777
everything in the entire themes/ map is set to 777

Re: [resolved] full crash on update

ok
could you go into your database, open the table *_user_infos, and change the theme of your user and the guest to an existing one

Re: [resolved] full crash on update

(sorry for the slow replies, I have other stuff to do).

Hey! that works! Sort of. I can now see pics and I seem to be on Piwigo 2.5.2

now all I need is to re-install themes...

Thank you!

---edit
hm. now, when I add a theme there is no preview (see pic) and I am scared to set a theme without a preview...

---edit2
jup, when I activate  a theme with no preview:

Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "header.tpl" in /home/kerstdorp/domains/kerstdorpen.nl/public_html/catalog3/include/smarty/libs/Smarty.class.php on line 1093

Re: [resolved] full crash on update

thank you for your patience ;)

this is getting strange...

first I made everything in the themes/ folder 777
than I noticed all files are 0 bytes
so in the admin I deleted the them dark
in my ftp I see, dark folder is indeed deleted
I install dark
I get no preview picture
in ftp I see there is  now a dark/ folder, but
all files in it are 0 bytes

so, somehow suddenly I am now left unable to use themes... at least the picture gallery seems to be working again.

I also noticed all plugins have been disabled?
