How scalable Piwigo really is?

Currently I host:
112648 photos
3121 albums including 2180 physical and 941 virtual (109809 associations)

And each time I try to modify anything MySQL kills my CPU with 100% usage.
For example: I press to create a new album. Instantly MySQL usage spikes to 100% across all cores for 5-7 seconds. After that the album is finally created.

Same thing goes for uploading images via uploader, 100% usage and takes a long time.
I tried optimizing MySQL as much as I could but no luck.

Currently I am using a dedicated server with 4 Cores 3.3Ghz and 4GB of RAM.

Any ideas?

Re: How scalable Piwigo really is?

Hello

there are far more heavy gallery using Piwigo

We recently found an issue with the album creation: [Bugtracker] ticket 2944 should be closed but you can try by applying manually http://piwigo.org/dev/changeset/23944 and test

For upload it depends on how large are your files

Re: How scalable Piwigo really is?

The files are small. 600kb. But MySQL goes crazy with 100% usage on all cores and the upload just lags.
At first when I just installed Piwigo everything was super fast, but as the DB became larger these issues started to appear and now its a huge problem.

I recommend to review and optimize all MySQL queries for the next release.
Also how about Memcached integration?
