Bulkr to Piwigo?

Hello all,

has anyone here tried retrieving images from Flickr using Bulkr (http://clipyourphotos.com/bulkr) and then uploaded them to their Piwigo gallery? I'm wondering if this will allow bulk import of Flickr descriptions and geotags. The Bulkr site says it can write that data to the Exif, but only with their Pro version, which costs money. So I'd like to know if this would be a worthwhile investment or not. I'd hate to spend money just to find out it won't work that way.

If anyone has any experience, or a file downloaded from Flickr with description and geotag using Bulkr Pro so I could run a quick trial, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Re: Bulkr to Piwigo?

Hi mistic100, yes I know and I have Flickr2Piwigo installed and it works great! However, it only imports titles, but not descriptions and no geotags yet, as you noted. Are there plans to include these things in the plugin soon?

I have over 4,000 images on Flickr and probably close to hundreds of hours worth of time adding descriptions and placing them on the map. The recent Flickr photo page changes and associated bugs are basically abolishing the ability to easily access that data on Flickr, which is one of the main reasons I'm trying to get it into Piwigo. For me, the descriptions and locations are just as important as the images themselves to provide context.

Re: Bulkr to Piwigo?

I was able to test a file downloaded with Bulkr Pro, and unfortunately this does not seem to work as I had hoped. :-( It is able to retrieve the information I want from Flickr, but it does not import into Piwigo when I upload the image. I'm hopeful though that the Flickr2Piwigo plugin can be taught to find and retrieve the same information on Flickr. Do you have any plans for updating it?

Re: Bulkr to Piwigo?

the last version imports description and geotags if "Map & Earth" or "Open Street Map" is installed
