tag aliases

Hello!
I'm tagging some pictures and let's say I have trees on the picture and I can use "trees" tag but on other picture I have a single tree. I don't want to make few tags for this so is there a way to "attach" one tag to another so when typing "trees" it will also look for "tree"?

Thanks!

If its about typing in the quick search box you can use the rv autocomplete plugin and add your custom suggestions...

Re: tag aliases

No no, it's about search results. I'd like to get all the images that are tagged with "tree" and "trees" just by typing "tree". It's like in Google search, when you type "tree" the search engine is also looking for "trees" etc.

Re: tag aliases

we don't have the "power" of google obviously.

It's till unclear to me what you are trying to do. When I asked if it's about typing in the quick search box, you said "no it's about search result", so I suppose you are talking about the full search page (with all options). But in this page you cannot search for tags using text input (only select from a list)...

Give us a link to your site and links to searches that are not working properly.

Re: tag aliases

Sorry, english is not my native language. OK, so go to: http://level-design.org/referencedb/

Now you can see the "Quick search" box on the left, in the menu. Type "tree" there. You'll find lots of pictures that are tagged with "tree" tag, and it's great.

Now go back to the main page and once again in the "Quick search" box type "trees". As you can see, there are no results.

Now here's my vision how it could be set up in tags preferences and how it could work:

Re: tag aliases

First there is an issue with your theme as it displays: Tag results for tree : Array — Array — Array — Array

The only thing I can suggest is use rv_autocomplete plugin that will show you the right choices ... This was also my first suggestion. Did you give it a try ?

Re: tag aliases

I've tried autocomplete but it's "way around" method that includes lots of typing. I think my idea isn't hard to implement and could be very useful because you just need to type it once and it works great.

About theme - you mean the tags list from the screenshot or maybe something on the website? I didn't changed anything in code, it's all set up from website's preferences.

I know that you're doing it for free and in your private time (I guess) but I'd love to see that something from my requests is actually implemented without looking for way around that do not work :( Anyway, thanks for doing a nice job with Piwigo!

Re: tag aliases

Now I see a "Custom" tab but I totally don't understand how it works. Could you provide any help file?

Re: tag aliases

BTW. I switched from "Simple Black" to "Clear" and I see that autocomplete finally works and the search results are without that "Array" thing... So the "Simple Black" theme is broken?

Re: tag aliases

OK, but what about that Array Array Array bug? You know why it's there? I haven't change anything in the template...
