Is there a way to customise the look of the popup that RV Maps shows when the user mouses over a pin on the world map.
Instead of just showing the image thumbnail and title I would also like to be able to see the keywords for the image.
Is there a particular file that needs to be edited?

It cannot be done as this data is not retrieved from the database (for performance reasons).

Customise the look of the popup is possible via piwigo-openstreetmap http://piwigo.org/ext/extension_view.php?eid=701
However customize the mouses over a pin on the world map in not possible.
Could you precise what you would like?
I don't see any other events more a click.
Or do you refer to something like the Flick world maps? It is still on click and not on mouse over.
