Hello,
I just notice a strange behaviour of the ratings.
Today I just checked them (see website) and got these values:
Rating score 4.33 (1 rate)
Rating score 2.33 (1 rate)
How can I have these rating with just 1 rate??????
When I checked under Admins Rating these rating also shows strange behaviour:
Number of rates Rating score Average rate Sum of rates Rate/Username/Rate date
pic1 1/1 2.33 1.00 1 1 guest(xxx) 2014-09-07
pic2 1/1 4.33 5.00 5 5 admin(xxx) 2014-08-19
pic3 1/1 4.33 5.00 5 5 guest(xxx) 2014-08-12
Can anyone explain what is going on?
PS .. I just started with this website .. so not much rating yet.
Thanks,

Okay .. so this is the answer, but still how is it handled (first it was correct, so depending on days as well?);
Goodbye "average rate", welcome "rating score"
In Piwigo 2.2 a photo with a single rating of 5 stars (average rate 5.00) was ranked before a photo with 10 ratings at 5 stars and 1 rating at 4 stars (average rate 4.91) . It was not fair.
In Piwigo 2.3 we have changed the algorithm to include the number of ratings in the calculation. To avoid confusion the average rate has been renamed rating score.
PS .. this means you can never have a 1 or 5 star rating?

Thanks for the quick response (appreciated), I now understand.
But it also means that 'in the end' you will never end up with a 1 or 5 star rating...

perfection donst' exist
but a trigger has been added to allow a plugin to change the rate function
