Hello
Piwigo version: 2.7.1
Piwigo URL: http://piwigo.com
I am concerned about the ability to enter the Year when editing the Creation Date.
Until I found another posting, I thought we were limited back to 2004 but then I saw from Mistic100 that you can click back a decade at a time back to 1914 and earlier (I stopped there as I got tired;)
Surely it would be much more straight forward to type in the Date e.g. 28/7/1914 ?
(In my example I am creating an album of First World War photos)

I know no way to tell jQuery UI to use an input instead of a select box
as I said in the other topic, the range will be -80:+20 in next version

(don't get it wrong, that doesn't mean I won't try to improve it...)

Please can you explain this -80:+20?
I don' recall any reference to it before. At the moment it seems to be -10:+10.
Presumably -80 means you can select back 80 years from the current year.
Does this mean we can still step back further (as you can do now)?
Why do we need +20 for a creation date? Are we looking into the future? Could we start with -100:+0 ?
Thanks for replying.

you guessed right
but Piwigo is often used for roudabout usages, with -100:+0, this guy doing a photo collection of Star Trek starships won't be able to set the creation date to their construction date (okay choosing year 5460 by 20 years steps is difficult, that's why I'll try to replace the select by an input)

I see the same Date routine is used for History Search.
It appears the settings are:-
Start Date -10:0
End Date 0:+10
Why would anyone search for History in the Future? ;)

please understand that it's the default configuration of the jQuery UI plugin
and it's not "in the future", it's relative te the current selected year
and obviously, as it's two linked datepickers for a range selection, the second one can't be before the first one (hence the zeros)

I am not trying to be awkward, I just feel these Date Year ranges are not easy to use.
I've no idea what "it's the default configuration of the jQuery UI plugin" means for us users. Does it mean you are constrained in some way?
I looked again at History Search:
Every Search has to End in the current month, unless you change the Start Date first.
For example, if we want to look at the same day last year, it is very cumbersome and involves clicking on the Day again after choosing the Year (but the Month is retained):-
e.g. 22/10/2013 to 22/10/2013
If it is History, the End Date cannot be in the Future, i.e. any Year (and Month) beyond the current one!
