[resolved] Picasa2Piwigo (bug for import), other solutions ?

Hi everybody !

I've alreaydy install, several time, Piwigo for firends. And I've often hesitate to install my own Piwigo Gallery.
But the question of picture transfert from Picasa was the last reason.

I've found several plugins and tools, like the KenL one, Picasa2Piwigo, but it doesn't work on my computer. I've the following error when I try to uploard an album :

************** Texte de l'exception **************
System.IndexOutOfRangeException: L'index se trouve en dehors des limites du tableau.
   à Picasa2Piwigo.StatusForm.SyncPiwigoGetFaceTags(String filename)
   à Picasa2Piwigo.StatusForm.SyncPiwigoAddPhoto(Int32 NewPiwigoAlbumId)
   à Picasa2Piwigo.StatusForm.StatusForm_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e)
   à System.Windows.Forms.Form.OnLoad(EventArgs e)
   à System.Windows.Forms.Control.CreateControl(Boolean fIgnoreVisible)
   à System.Windows.Forms.Control.CreateControl()
   à System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmShowWindow(Message& m)
   à System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m)
   à System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
à System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

The album is correctly create in Piwigo, but there's no picture in. And it's a shame, because the button in Picasa IS AWESOME for my workflow !

Take a picture-> Import and traitment in Adobe Lightroom -> Export to Picasa-> Geotag and facetag -> Export to Piwigo

KenL has made a very good job on this system.
I hope it's nothing, and it can be easily solve.

But in an hypothetic case where there's no longer support on this tools, what other solution can I consider ? What other solution can I use to simply export my picture from Picasa to Piwigo with all the picture metadata (exif, IPTC and XMP), like geotag and facetag ?

Thanks for reading me
Cordialy

Re: [resolved] Picasa2Piwigo (bug for import), other solutions ?

Hello Thibault,

I am sorry you are having problems with the extension.  Let us see if we can fix it.  I placed a debug version of the extension here:  https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46847698/debug.zip

Please install the debug version of the extension.  When trying to upload photos from Picasa, go to the options and check the "Enable Logging" check box and set the log path and file name.

After the problem happens, please email the log file to me and I will take a look at it.

Re: [resolved] Picasa2Piwigo (bug for import), other solutions ?

Hi  KenL,

Thanks for your rapid answer !
So, I install the version you gave me, and I've the same issue.

I can't send an email, when I try to send it, they say I'ven't the right to display this page.
So I've attach the debug log in this post. But there's no pertinent information, I guess.

EDIT : Can't join a txt file. So : File

Perhaps it's an .NET version error ? Is there any package to install before use your soft ? I'm on a Windows 7 64 bits. I'll try this evening on an 32bits

Cordialy.

Hello Thibault,

Thanks for trying the debug version!  Is it possible to share the file, _DSC0572.jpg?  Maybe there is something in the file that I don't expect.

It's doing the same issue, whatever the origine of the picture (different albums or camera), even a picture downloaded on Google...

I've try to install Piwigo2Picasa in english, same thing.

EDIT: I've succed to upload ONE picture :p, but at the second, same issue...

Hello Thibault,

Is it possible to share 1 photo which demonstrates the issue?    Maybe there is something in the file that I don't expect.

Hello Thibault,

By chance, do you have a large number of people tagged in Picasa?  Maybe more than 256?

Thanks,

Re: [resolved] Picasa2Piwigo (bug for import), other solutions ?

Hello Thibault,

Thanks for the information. That is the problem!  There is a limit of 256 people, and no checking to detect if there are more than that tagged in Picasa.

I will give you an updated version for you to try in a couple hours.  I will set the limit much higher (and add error checking).

Hello Thibault,

Please try the updated version here:  https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46847698/debug.zip

This version should accommodate up to 1,000 people tagged in Picasa.  Thank you for pointing out the issue.

Thanks,
KenL
