[resolved] videojs plugin - "video could not be loaded" - mp4 format

Hello/Hi/Greetings,

I"m trying to get the videojs plugin working. The videos are mp4 format. I did FTP upload and sync, and that was OK.  The thumbnails are generated OK.  ffmeg and mediainfo are both installed in the default path (/usr/bin)

But when I click on the thumbnail the video window is simply a big black screen with an X and the error "video could not be loaded, either because server or network failed or the format is not supported".  I have tried this in Firefox(33.0.3) and IE(10)

Interestingly, if I look at the HTML source, there appears to be an extra dot after "index.php".  Is that correct?  It looks strange to me, and it won't work if I paste it into a browser window.
        <source src="/index.php./galleries/john/cuba2014/CubanBand.MP4" type='video/mp4'>

However, if I use a direct link to the mp4 file, the video plays without problems.

The demo video, which is also an mp4, plays OK.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
......John

Re: [resolved] videojs plugin - "video could not be loaded" - mp4 format

...some progress being made...
The problem is related to the incorrect "source" URL.  I had $conf['gallery_url'] = 'index.php' which is the home page of my website.

The photos are only a part of my website.  I'd really like to retain this because when a visitor clicks on "home" I'd like them to go back to to the main page, not to the gallery page, leaving them with no way to get back to the home page.

Unfortunately, the videojs plugin uses this to form the source URL.  It seems to be the only thing that breaks, at least the only thing I've found.

So, any ideas on how to provide a link back to the website home page instead of using $conf['gallery_url']?

Adding something line: <a href=/index.php>Back to main site</a> into the Page Banner on the configuration accomplishes this. Although the "home" link still points to the wrong place. I am not too hung up on that, but if someone has a better idea I'd gladly give it a try.

Thanks in advance.

on the "." in the url, it seems to be intentional
take a look here - http://photo.dragonsoft.us/index?/category/73
2 out of 3 mp4s will show properly
but 1 sample from QT site did not work. you may be running into encoder issue

Re: [resolved] videojs plugin - "video could not be loaded" - mp4 format

Thanks Serge.  Interestingly, all four of those videos played OK on my iPad.
Yes, the dot in ./galleries etc would be correct. It was the /index.php ahead of that which was my problem. Once I set gallery_url back to the default of null, it worked. But clicking on Home no longer takes me back to the website home page.
Thanks again,
