Hello/Hi/Greetings,

Piwigo iOS 2.0 (7) crashed when I tried to upload images. I had no default Author set!!! After setting one the upload went well.

Can you please try to reproduce?

BTW after setting a default author I'm not able to delete the default author completely Piwigo keeps always a single character!

Well that's interesting and weird... I haven't gotten your crash report yet (it takes a while), but when I do, I'll look at what happened.

Deleting the default author completely: I'm getting the same result, the last character being left over. I've fixed it, so thanks for that!

I didn't get a crash report, which is weird in deed, but the app closed for me unexpectedly! I was using my iPhone 4s.

I just tested on my iPad, where I didn't had a default author defined and the Piwigo iOS 2.0 (7) did not close.

On my iPad though I saw that the images I uploaded with my iPhone 4s had a bad quality. Therefore I just have chosen some different iPhone photos and uploaded these and they are also just uploaded in a very bad quality. So I just found out that the slider for quality was setup weird. (Compression 0% & Photo Size 1%). I changed these to 10% & 100% and tried the upload again. And again after touching the upload the app closed. It is still in the task bar of opened apps but when I activate it the app performs a login.

But I think I could now narrow it down, as Piwigo iOS closes on a specific picture type only which is CR2 (Canon RAW). But it is not the file type itself I figured out it is the location as the file has it's location at the photostream and origins from an upload to my iPad.

When the app closes it is resetting the settings again to Compression 0% & Photo Size 1%! I can reproduce it this way.

Ah, that makes more sense. I got your crash log and it's crashing when it's converting your image into data to upload it to the server. The app was designed to only handle the .jpg image format.

- Do the .CR2 images show a preview of the image? If it does, I'm surprised.
- Does the old Piwigo app (v1.0) support uploading your .CR2 images?

I don't know what the future plans are for supporting different image formats, sorry.

Well I don't know if the old app did support CR2 but I don't think as CR2 is not an internet format for displaying images. iOS photos supports CR2 so you see a JPG preview of the file.

when you choose a Jpeg file does the Photo Size still reset to 1%?

Hi Olaf,

no, because when I upload a JPG the App will not crash (or simply close to the background).
