Fatal error in 2.8.0 upgrade

Hello,

Yesterday I  tried to upgrade my Piwigo 2.7 to 2.8 version following the automatic procedure embeded in the app. It failed. The browser runs the upgrade.php file and goes blank.
Then I tried to follow the manual procedure downloading and copying all the files to piwigo folder. Same result.
Now I can not access even the old version. It always tries to execute the upgrade.php file and gets stuck.
Looking at the error.log file I see the following error at the time of the automatic upgrade:

"PHP Fatal error:  Call to a member function fetch_row() on a non-object in /apps/piwigo/web/include/dblayer/functions_mysqli.inc.php on line 218
[Fri Mar 11 19:01:25 2016] [error] [client 192.168.1.56] File does not exist: /apps/piwigo/web/favicon.ico, referer: http://192.168.1.11:7091/upgrade.php"

Any clues?

Piwigo version: 2.7.4
PHP version: 5.4.45-0+deb7u2
MySQL version: 5.5.40
Piwigo URL: http://

Re: Fatal error in 2.8.0 upgrade

Hello,

usually this is not the first main error

we would have something like [Forum, topic 24899] menalto to piwigo import error: table jzm_sessions does not exist with an mysql error being the primary error. Could you check the mysql logs?

You are right, it is difficult to browse through this error.log file.
Attached the full entry (edited):
