I'm using GThumb+ plugin on my piwigo photo gallery and it's really great.

Only a suggestion:
instead of having a parameter to set the number of thumbs per page it could be better to have a "number of thumbnails lines per page", ensuring that in every page the last line of the page is full (obviously this do not apply for the last thumbs page of the album...).
