I have been running v 2.8.1 for a few months with great success.
Now I am having tremendous problems.
Takes 3 to 4 times to log in as admin
Pictures will not upload
Have a hard time creating new albums
Will not create a new user
Some of the plugins now say they have been deactivated. When I go to reactivate it gives me an error which disappears before I can read it.
Can any one give me some options on what to do.
Thanks
Carltonb

I get the same error after:
* "Some upgrades are available for extensions."
* upgraded piwigo-videojs plugin
* after that, plugin page said it was deactivated, offered only to uninstall
* uninstalled
* installed piwigo-videojs again
* clicked on activate
* a short screen with
Notice: Undefined offset: 0 in .../admin/include/plugins.class.php on line 182
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at .../admin/include/plugins.class.php:182) in .../include/page_header.php on line 101
appears but is immediately redirected to the admin page (could only grab it by quick screenshot)
* piwigo-videojs is not listed as installed
* last four actions are repeatable with same results
* Administration Home says "Some upgrades are available for extensions."
* clicking on it no updates are offered
I've no time now to further investigate.

@carltonb do you have videojs installed like erAck?
Did you both perform an automatic upgrade of Piwigo recently? if yes [Forum, topic 23208] READ ME: getting an error after the update?
Offline
"Recently" is a few days after 2.8.1 was released I upgraded to that. I don't quite recall if I upgraded any extension after that. Probably not, as I don't have files dated later than May-8 under the plugins/ directory, which are AdminTools and TakeATour language files.

Try re-downloading the [extension by xbgmsharp] piwigo-videojs and unzipping over your old piwigo_videojs directory. This worked for me as it seems the latest upgrade to that extension has some 'upgrade' issues deleting required files and directories.
Again, worked for me after I got the same errors.
Offline
Yes, download and unzip worked. Thanks!
Btw, piwigo-videojs/obsolete.list has some weird content, incomplete file names truncated at the left, first two characters seem to be missing starting with the metypes/ entry which likely should be mimetypes/ instead and even contains a single / which might had been js/ ... if that file is used to remove files it might remove too much if not all.
A little later: indeed, admin/include/updates.class.php uses that file's content to remove files and directories.

Submitted [Github] piwigo-videojs issue #89
Offline
This is PWG issue and it is not the first time. I use the git release process from PWG.
Using the zip file Github is safer.
There is no file call admin/include/updates.class.php in my source. In fact there is no admin/include directory in the source
Check yourself, https://github.com/xbgmsharp/piwigo-vid … ster/admin
Until it is fix from PWG, I would recommend to use github.

that's more from the PEM (Piwigo Extension Manager) which produces the obsolete list
@xbgmsharp can you reproduce? if you create a new extension and a new git, then add your old version then update it

I had the same issue with the Video.JS upgrade (posted about here) and had to restore my SQL database from backup because a synchronization caused all of my MP4 files to be removed from Piwigo. I'll try re-installing the extension from scratch, thanks for the tip.

Indeed the obsolete.list file in version 2.8.a of [extension by xbgmsharp] piwigo-videojs is full of errors:

I have to investigate to understand what is going wrong in the algorithm generating this obsolete.list file.
Offline
Things are much clearer for me now.
Version 0.1 has no top level directory in the archive, it must have been created manually. When piwigo.org/ext generates the obsolete.list file, it reads the content of this old archive and fails at some point. I've pushed a fix for this issue.
In my opinion, having a bug on PEM (piwigo.org/ext) is not that much a problem. The real problem is that Piwigo has deleted some files files outside the plugin. There is a bug in the obsolete.list mecanism. [Github] Piwigo issue #506
xbgmsharp, can you:
1) remove the published version 2.8.a
2) publish a new version, 2.8.b (not 2.8.a) maybe with your most recent changes

Any hint to what files may have been deleted? I compared with a previous some days old backup and found no files outside ./plugins/piwigo-videojs/ being removed, except under ./_data/templates_c/ and ./_data/cache/ of course.
