I have the same problem. I use piwigo since 2 years and before Piwigo 2.6 I did the synchronization with the "Maps & Earth" Plugin.
But know the synchronization doesn't work anymore, even If I use Photos->Batch Manager Synchronization.

My settings are:
// enable the synchronization method for adding photos
$conf['enable_synchronization'] = true;


// use_exif: Use EXIF data during database synchronization with files metadata
$conf['use_exif'] = true;

If you use plugin Exif View, deactivate it and give another try. rvelices has reported a bug with this plugin, I have to fix it.

Deactivating EXIF View solved it for me too, but letting you know that I was deactivating EXIF View 2.7.b, so it's still a concern.

unfortunately I have to push this thread, because my gps data is not synced and I have to manually add them after import. It was working fine for me in the past, but I don't know anymore, when this Feature got broken.

I use Piwigo 2.9.0, RV Maps&Earth plugin 2.8a and I don't use  nor have installed EXif View and like Hagen wrote, my Settings are true for both elements. I don't even see coordinates in the Batch Manager edit dialog.

IMHO, the import of gps data does not work or the import mechanism stores the gps data somewhere in database where the other tools won't find it.

Does anyone have a solution for the problem.
