Hi
I have the VideoJS plugin working - sort of - but need assistance. I have read the documentation several times, but do not fully understand it. I do not understand the code, as I am not a coder.
Essentially I have installed and activated the plugin. I added video support and video metadata support as per the instructions (using Localfiles Editor Plugin).
I have uploaded an MP4. It is shown in Piwigo by a film reel icon. I uploaded the video through the usual uploader, not ftp.
At first I could not navigate to the gallery. The gallery was represented by the film reel icon. When I clicked on it nothing happened (it did not go to the gallery). But I was able to give the gallery a thumbnail by assigning an unrelated jpg as its thumbnail. So now I can navigate to the gallery but in the gallery when I click or double-click the film-reel icon representing the file nothing happens. I don't know how to assign a thumbnail to the file.
However if I go to Recent pPhotos the same film reel icon shows up and if I double-click that then the video plays perfectly.
My site is on a shared server so I do not have root access. It would appear that neither MediaInfo nor FFmpeg are on the shared server.
How is it possible to give the file a thumbnail and make it play when clicked in the gallery?
Peter

You need to go to videojs plugin options to synchronise and generate thumbnails and info.

Thanks freechelmi, but when I do that I get the following messages:
Metadata parsing disable because MediaInfo is not installed on the system, eg: '/usr/bin/mediainfo'.
Poster and Thumbnail creation disable because FFmpeg is not installed on the system, eg: '/usr/bin/ffmpeg'.
Problem is I don't have root access and therefore I cannot install those scripts.

MediaInfo can be installed as non-root, see the VideoJS documentation and its Wiki.
For ffmpeg you'd have to ask your friendly hoster to add the package and dependencies.
Failing that, you'd have to manually add a representing thumbnail for each video and there'd just be no media info metadata.

Thanks erAck
My hosting co won't install ffmpeg - I've already asked them.
I don't understand the instructions for adding a manual thumbnail. I have seen the stuff about adding a subdirectory with the thumbnail image but I can't even find the directory that I'm supposed to create a sub-directory in!
