Hello/Hi/Greetings,
:-)
Totally fresh install, never used Piwigo ever... but wanted to for years. :-)
Netinstall, failed.
Manual install, into a folder enabled for PHP (same setup running other PHP scripts including Wordpress, in parallel folder).
Initial index.php run, gave error opening .\_data\templates_c
odd.... that folder isn't even in the downloaded archive.
So, I manually created it...
now I get:
Fatal error: Uncaught --> Smarty: unable to write file C:\Inetpub\bienhaus.xx\gallery\_data\templates_c\wrt588bcb80273842_36035073 <-- thrown in C:\Inetpub\bienhaus.xx\gallery\include\smarty\libs\sysplugins\smarty_internal_runtime_writefile.php on line 48
I've googled all over the place, and even here, to see if I am missing something, or if there is a slightly more detailed set of install instructions for this, as it relates to permissions for IIS, etc.
But, I usually keep things pretty stock, and things run. (as said, Wordpress installs on this server ok, and runs)
Any advice, or threads you can send me to, appreciated!
Thanks
IIS 6.0
Piwigo version: 2.8.6
PHP version: 5.2.17
MySQL version: 5.0.37
Piwigo URL: http://

Your php and mysql version numbers are almost 10 years old, try updating them.
Also,I guess you could run iis, but try a wamp stack first (wamp = Windows apache(or nginx or litespeed) mysql php) first.

Hi,
I did a piwigo installation on IIS 7.5 (windows 2008r2) and 8.0 (windows 2012r2) without any problem. Your issue seems to be related to permissions on .\data\ folder.
I will have checked the IIS_IUSR user have write permissions on this folder. Also, checked permissions of application pool identities.
