Hi,
after spending some time with Zenphoto and Wordpress I decided to give Piwigo another try.
Why did I come back?
This is quite simple: Piwigo as a gallery system gives me all i need for my gallery.
Especcially because I decided (not really time for it anymore) to abandon my blog and concentrate on the gallery.
BTW:
It is good to see, that Piwigo is under active development and getting better and better :-)
What I have done so far can be seen here:

I really like what you did with it. Attractive and functional layout. What theme is it?
Nice photos too.

Hi,
the theme is 'Bootstrap Darkroom' with 'Material Darkroom' enabled.
Not 100% sure if I stay with the more or less dark theme - i am still testing the various layouts which come with the Bootstrap Darkroom theme.
I have made only two modifications yet - 99% is Piwigo 'out of the box'.
Modification 1 (local files editor):
Clean Seo urls settings and setting up mail delivery smtp system.
Modification 2:
Modified the statistics in functions.inc.php to anonymize the visitors IP.
Unfortunately there seems no other way, except modifying a core file.
I sometimes 'love' german laws....
Anyway: compared to wordpress setting up Piwigo is very easy.
Cheers

Great photos!
If you like, you can tweak the amount of darkening of the hero image using custom CSS, like
.page-header:before {
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.225);
}
The last value is the alpha level, default is 0.4 which might be a tad bit too much for b&w images.
