iPhone face metadata

Good morning! (or whatever time of day it is for you)

Has anyone done in research into extracting the 'face' data from iPhone pictures?  I've looked through the metadata and it doesn't appear anything is stored or referenced there other than face coordinates (perhaps).

It would be really nice to extract a persons name from a photo where the iPhone 'recognizes them.

Re: iPhone face metadata

it's possible that the faces and other Apple specific information are stored in a separate database. Apple does that with music too.

To be sure, you could compare two identical photo files. One with faces detected, and one not.

Re: iPhone face metadata

I'm pretty sure they are stored somewhere in a DB format - I see a FaceID tag that may represent a pointer to the data.

I wish there was a way to extract this easily - I'm still in search.
