Just to thank Serge for the plugin (using it in combination with bootstrap/darkroom and the result is awesome).... and to request that the patch for the last row "distorted aspect ratio" bug be merged. In my case it's been a a year or two with the bug in there, so really happy to have found this patch.

In case Serge is not around anymore, if anyone has access to the official plugin repository and could commit the patch/increase the version number and release the updated plugin, that would be a nice service to the community :)

if this is still an issue after upgrade to latest, please PM me

Hi Serge, Im using gdThumb with bootstrap/darkroom and it looks awesome, BUT, if a category has sub albums the layout renders wrong. if you want to check by yourself, my site is at www.peu.net

Thanks!

@PEU
You can use GThumb+ as an alternative plugin.

I use GThumb+ and it works fine with Bootstrap Darkroom and sub albums:

Q
Will update do anything to existing thumbs/image. That scenario is prohibitive for a few of my users that have links in a few places and many, links as well.

it is compatibility validation
if you have concerns if upgrade will break your setup, please make a copy of plugin folder, upgrade, verify and if broken roll it back

Re: [Plugin] gdThumb - Masonry style thumbs in your gallery - 1.0.20

Hi Serge,

thank you very much for updating your fine tool.
One little thing is a bit problematic:
The last row is again stretched too much.
I wrote here about it: https://piwigo.org/forum/viewtopic.php? … 41#p168141
Maybe you would like to add something like Moose's Code to gdthumbs.js?
Than its easier to update gdThumb.
Thanks in advance!

Re: [Plugin] gdThumb - Masonry style thumbs in your gallery - 1.0.20

Hi Serge

First off many thanks for your greydragon efforts.  I followed you to PWG from G3, and both PWG and your template have needed little work from me to keep them happy.

So what brings me to your thread then? I hear you ask.  Well, I've been doing the first upgrade in a couple of years and hit a little problem.  When I try to publish the GD theme it works fine, but when I then go to publish the gdThumb plugin I hit a problem.

A message appears on the site in two places when using the GD theme but only one when using a different theme.  The message is
"Warning: Creating default object from empty value in <path snipped for brevity> /include/smarty/libs/sysplugins/smarty_internal_runtime_updatescope.php on line 50"

From a bit of googling it looks like it is caused by an empty variable, so possibly something I'd left empty during initial configuration and hasn't caused an issue up till now?

Anyway, on other themes it appears just above the images in the albums page, but on your greydragon theme it appears right above the "Locked for Maintenance banner" as well as on the albums page between the description and the pictures.

So I'm a bit stumped on where to look for the answer, I'm guessing that it's something to do with the thumbnails plugin since the message vanishes when it is unpublished.  If I knew what info it was looking for I'd be able to find whatever I needed to fill in to make it disappear, but since I haven't a clue about smarty templating stuff, or plugins I'm slighlty at your mercy for some guidance.

Many thanks

Re: [Plugin] gdThumb - Masonry style thumbs in your gallery - 1.0.20

Further update, on thinking about it, I think the same thing is present in both the gd theme, and the plugin.  When the plugin is active it appears in the albums section, and when the theme is active it appears at the top of the page.

Re: [Plugin] gdThumb - Masonry style thumbs in your gallery - 1.0.20

Hi Serge,

Great work on the plugin. It offers some essential options that should really be in Piwigo natively.

The issue i'm having though is with the title overlay. I prefer Albums to have a static title, but when using the bottom overlay it sometimes covers nearly the whole image (especially on mobile), and it turns out that it's not actually click- or tap-able. So one can only enter the album by pressing on the very narrow top part of the image that's left visible!

There is no option to make it clickable is there? Maybe it's better placed below the image anyway, or actually as a title+description card on the side of the image - which makes it even more visually distinguishable as an Album.

Cheers,
M

Re: [Plugin] gdThumb - Masonry style thumbs in your gallery - 1.0.20

Thanks for the great plugin!

I can't find a way to use the standard album layout I had before installing the plugin. I'm using the Modus theme. I'm talking about the page /index.php?/categories (aka Home). Before the installing your plugin, I had two columns listing the albums with the featured image, album title, and description.

Is there any way to get back to using that view of all my albums but still use your plugin on other pages that would show thumbnails?

Same here, i only wanted to change the gallery layout. But i like the album covers as they are, especially in Bootstrap Darkroom.

For that reason (album thumbs layout) I use [extension by P@t] GThumb+ instead of gdThumb.

Re: [Plugin] gdThumb - Masonry style thumbs in your gallery - 1.0.20

Ah i see, good to know.

With the '+' version being last updated in 2016, and the 2019 gdThumb "inspired by GThumb+ but adds new options" - I would not have expected there to be such a change in behavior without it being optional!

*One thing that bothers me with both though, is that the margin is added to the sides of the page as well. So as you increase the margin, the width of the gallery gets narrower. Only if you set the margin to 0 it lines up correctly with the page layout, anything else just looks off to me, but a 0 margin is not the look i was going for. :-/
