Because of a new judgment in the EU, it is mandatory to show a cookie-opt-in / opt-out (before sending the cookie to the browser!).
I found several websites with code for cookie consent, but I don´t know where to paste this code in Piwigo. It is essential, that the cookie-screen is shown before the cookies are set, so I think it is not ok to put the code in the personal footer ...
And when you change any data with personal code it can be a problem when the template gets an update.
For this reason it would be very nice to have a plugin for this.
I think such a plugin would be very interesting/helpful for a lot of piwigo-users.
I know, the cookie-opt-in is not necessary for the Piwigo session-cookie, because it is a technical cookie, but depending on which plugins you use, it is possible, that third-party-cookies will be set (e.g. Google Maps).
I hope that someone will program such a plugin :-)

Thanks!
It would be great to have a plugin for this.

No, it's not.

Hi Netcie,
thanks again for the plugin, I had now the time to test it.
I think the plugin is not exactly doing what I expected.
As I wrote above "it is mandatory to show a cookie-opt-in / opt-out (before sending the cookie to the browser!)"
I tested the plugin and it shows the banner/text on the bottom of the page.
This looks good. But at this time the cookie is already send to the browser and saved.
So the cookie is set before the user accepts it.
I have no idea how to prevent this ... seems a bit more complicated.
EDIT: I just read in the extension-description, that you are working on it and have mentioned the problem by yourself.
Thanks for that.
I will nevertheless use this plugin simple to show the cookie-information to the users.
Another idea:
It would be good when the user can not only change the URL but can change the words "More Info" as well.

"It would be good when the user can not only change the URL but can change the words "More Info" as well."
Has been implemented, see published extension.
The session cookie has been hard-coded in common.inc.php r141 with session_start() as function and also in functions_session.inc.php
I'm not sure how to hook onto these functions.
