Backing up text with UTF-8 encoding

Hello/Hi/Greetings,

The captions on my photos have the town names written in local language so I have the text in UTF-8 format. But then I backup to a CSV file it strips out the special characters.

Is there a way to save it with the special characters in place?

Thanks

But then I backup to a CSV file

How?

Might be best to use a database tool like phpMyAdmin or Adminer.

Re: Backing up text with UTF-8 encoding

I used the "Export Data" plugin, on my site on Piwigo.com

I don't have any knowledge of database kit, just basic stuff for me

I don't have the Piwigo.org on my PC, just the .com web site version

Thanks

Re: Backing up text with UTF-8 encoding

As a piwigo.com customer you could probably ask the support there.
