Hello,
Every time I log in as administrator, it wants to update Charlie's content plugin. I tell it to do so, and it tells me it has succeeded. So, why doesn't it take?
I've even uninstalled it completely, restarted the server and reinstalled the plugin from a fresh download. the next time I logged in, it wanted to update gain.
On a second note: does this plugin have a configuration page? It is never listed in the plugins menu, only as an installed and active plugin with all the others on the "manage" page.

I think that both your questions are answered in the Charlie's topic, and on the Charlie's website. (both linked from the extension page)

The plugin works otherwise?

Hello Executive,
Thank you for the links. The maintainer's web page is not obvious from the "other plugins available" tab in plugins management. I had originally installed though there, rather than from the downloaded zip file while in a terminal session to the server. I no longer get the prompt to update.
i have not yet generated representative thumbnails.
When I navigate to video file from previous photo, video plays well. If I click on video file icon from the album page, nothing happens. Using either current Edge, Chrome or Mozilla makes no difference. All on windows 10.
Same result in chrome on Android 4.2.2.

On iphone it just displays a question mark icon either way.
