Hi,
I'm setting up Piwigo on a new home server - much better than my previous effort last January. Very pleased so far!
I'm making my way through various bits of documentation, in particular, about permissions and password protection. I have looked at documentation, forum posts, and extensions. So far, I have not seen anything about making individual images private.
So,
a) is it possible to hide or password protect single images, without having to group them in albums?
b) where would I find info about that?
Piwigo version: 2.10.2
PHP: 7.3.12

In the image properties, set the "Who can see this photo?" box.
The tutorial plugin explains it.

That's the privacy level protection though, not a per password protection.

Thanks Both for your replies.
I've got something good from it.
As Executive noted, the tour/tutorial has a useful bit of info
http://(host)/piwigo/admin.php?page=help§ion=permissions
Permissions on photos
Each photo has a privacy level (a lock). Each user also has a privacy level (a key). There are 5 privacy levels...
The tutorial explains about Batch Manager and about changing permissions by editing individual photos.
So far so good.
But when I go to batch manager, I don't see all my photos.
So there's something else to be learned about populating Batch Manager with the photos that have been Synchronised.
I wonder what that is.
Continuing on to the individual photo edit, things are more straightforward.
Here's a screenshot of the folder before I changed permissions on one photo, and another screenshot after.
(Note that I'm logged in as admin on the first screenshot, and not logged in at all for the 2nd screenshot.)
So, the photo is in some sense password protected, as it seems to be viewable only by me logged in as admin. I haven't got any freinds and family yet :( so I can't say what they'd see if I set that option.
So, all good.
But, that means I still have TWO questions!
First: why isn't this permissions info easily located in the online knowledgebase/documentation? (I see it's a wiki, should I just copy & paste the info? )
I can answer that question, but it wasn't obvious to the newbie like me. Took some rooting arond and asking on here.
Piwigo documentation is a somewhat scattered thing.
Some is in forums, some is in wiki, and some is here:

I suppose I could have gone directly to the Help Me menu. Now I know.
Second: How does Batch Manager work?
I'm not going to try answering that here. Maybe I'll figure it out by trial and error, bt I'll get there eventually.

To see all photos, in the Batch Manager select the predefined filter All and then click Refresh photo set. Then select photos you want to perform an action on. When selected choose from the action list below.
Immediately after a synchronize or upload the basket (or caddie) will contain that latest set of images, so the predefined filter Basket displays that set. The basket can also contain items that you manually added from the image view.
However, there's also a Take a Tour plugin tutorial about that, Edit Photos.

Thank you! Will try that next time I synchronise a bunch of photos.
Oh, and I'll set aside time to go therough the entire tour. Maybe I'll find answers to some of the other things I'm wondering about.
