Video file process

Hello
I installed Piwigo and I am looking for some help with video files. I have a number of mov and avi files that I believe are not supported by Piwigo. I have already uploaded them to the site but they do not play within the web browser. Is there a way to make them play?
Just to note when I view the site using the iphone app all the video files play. All the mp4, mov and avi files.

I wrote a python script to transcode the files to mp4 and create a thumbnail jpg file. The problem I now have is once these files are created they do not show up. I assume some process needs to be done to add them to the Piwigo database for them to show. Does anyone know what I need to do to get this to work?

Thanks to all for your help.

Re: Video file process

Thanks for that link.  I already installed videojs but for my issue I don't think this will assist me.  I'm basically looking to see what Piwigo does when a file is uploaded so I can replicate it to add the files I created in the folders.

Also when I do a Synchronize in videojs it always comes up with "You ask me to do nothing, are you sure?".  This comes up no matter if I  deselect the Simulation button or not.  So I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

At the same time as I mentioned when using the iPhone app all files play, avi, mov and mp4.  How does that work?

Thanks
