OpenStreetMap Plugin for Piwigo 11.2.0

Hello/Hi/Greetings,

I have ignored the warning and updated to Piwigo 11.2.0 from revision 2.10

The OpenStreetMap (OSM) plugin revision 2.9.a seems to work but some settings have changed - e.g. the OSM map is not at the top of the page.

Hello ? On what page ? Home, album, picture ?
Maybe you should redo OSM settings anew.

Re: OpenStreetMap Plugin for Piwigo 11.2.0

Hi,  Appears to be working for me on 11.2.0.  Map appears at the top of the page, pins all working etc.  The only thing that doesn't work for me is the reverse geocoding service for tagging locations.  Searching around I get the impression that that is because the server that did the reversing has been pulled.

Re: OpenStreetMap Plugin for Piwigo 11.2.0

Thanks all.

The OSM plugin seems to be working OK with Piwigo 11.x, in spite of the warnings.

There was a typo in my original post:  The GSM map used to be at the bottom of our pages and now its at the top.

Its not a big issue but I can't find out how to move it to the bottom of the pages.

J.

Re: OpenStreetMap Plugin for Piwigo 11.2.0

Hi,
even before piwigo 11, I have noticed that some plugin settings are not stored. If you disable, then enable back the plugin, you will have to set again some stuff like yes/no for a map along album description.

Re: OpenStreetMap Plugin for Piwigo 11.2.0

Thanks,

I can't even find where to set the OSM map position on screen.  I must have done it before!

Recon I'll just live with it at the top, as it is now

Re: OpenStreetMap Plugin for Piwigo 11.2.0

Please, those running OSM Plugin on Piwigo 11.x. How did you achieve that? On https://piwigo.org/ext/extension_view.php?eid=701 it still says it's only compatible with PWG up to version 2.10. Using a managed Piwigo service so I don't think I can force it. Thanks!

Re: OpenStreetMap Plugin for Piwigo 11.2.0

Hello ! It would be great to keep the plugin settings when it is disabled. Especially, when upgrading the Piwigo  : the webmaster may be surprised that all plugins have been automatically disabled. And OSM settings are completely lost. Where are they stored, by the way ?

Re: OpenStreetMap Plugin for Piwigo 11.2.0

Hello,
For me, this plugin seems to work fine with Piwigo 11.5.0.
The issue I found is that it doesn't manage user rights. When showing the map, users can have access also to photos to which they shouldn't have access to.
Has anyone found a fix for that behaviour?

Re: OpenStreetMap Plugin for Piwigo 11.2.0

HI,
@Ruman, how do you manage your users access rights ?
I do with category permission, and do not see any problem on a map showing all pictures related to a tag. It is not populated the same between admin session and public session.

@Katryne, OSM config may be stored here

Code:

SELECT * FROM `pwg_config` where `param`='osm_conf'

Re: OpenStreetMap Plugin for Piwigo 11.2.0

This plugin will not now start on Piwigo v12.0

Bit of a show stopper for me, in a way. One of the reasons I chose Piwigo was for this sort of functionality. As best as I can tell, Jalbum offers it, so long as you have a Google Maps account.

I feel I'm at a cross roads here, where I am forced to choose one or the other.

As a programmer, I had a similar problem with perl - when it's myriad collection of CPAN modules was great, a lot were no-longer-maintained, making it hard to see what was still available.

One final nuclear option I guess is to look at the module, see if I can work out what it is doing and fork it off. I suspect I am not up to this, I've been retired for several years now. Still, mebbe...

Re: OpenStreetMap Plugin for Piwigo 11.2.0

OSM plugin cannot do its job on Piwigo 12 yet :
- display is unstable and strange, overlaying other parts of the page.
- settings cannot be settled because there is no button to save them

Thats the main reason why I will wait before upgrading. For a living site, I keep to version 11.5.

The v.12 was released so that coders can upgrade their plugins, but very very few are available yet.

Re: OpenStreetMap Plugin for Piwigo 11.2.0

Reloading the theme or changing it made OSM run correctly again in Piwigo 12.

Except for a small bug : when geolocating a new picture, the map is not displayed on picture page, though the location seems to be correctly registered, since the picture is shown on home page and album page.

Picture that had been geolocated before Piwigo 12 have their map on the picture page.
