Hi - newbie here, apologies for my rubbish terminology and explanation

I've installed Piwigo on an addon domain, it's running fine but the index.php is nested inside photos/piwigo/gallery and I can't work out how to make index.php the homepage eg

mydomain.com/index.php

Is it something to do with the htaccess file on my server? If so, how should I configure it?

If you want to use a (sub?)domain only for Piwigo then set the document root of that domain to the photos/piwigo/ directory. If that is gibberish to you then ask your provider.
