Hello/Hi/Greetings,
(Here your message)
Is there some modern solution for Piwigo to replace this old addon:
https://piwigo.org/ext/extension_view.php?eid=801
?
Are the failed logins already logged somewhere?

What would a "modern" solution look like? The plugin does what it claims to do. Additionally to having fail2ban digest the log you can even read it as well.

Work on piwigo 11 or 12 at minimum? the mentioned one ended compatibility with piwigo 2.

Works perfectly for me in Piwigo 11.5.0
Just seems to lack some version compatibility info to make the warning go away.

I would recommend using Apache auth as an additional layer of security. Bots rarely attack auth, and even if they do, it is far less resource intensive as PHP logins.

How would you accomplish that for the one identification.php file?
