core/install.php is missing

Hello,

I've tried to install Piwigo by manual installation, but an error happened as "404 Not Found".
The browser shows https://example.com/core/install.php then, so I looked into my server, but I couldin't find the "core" directory anywhere (also in the local folder).

What should I do for this situation?

Thanks,

Re: core/install.php is missing

Thanks for your reply!

No, I've never typed "core" during install...

I uploaded all the unzipped files to the root directory of my server (https://www.example.com/).
After that, I accessed https://www.example.com/ with my browser and saw a drop-down list for language selection.
On the next page, I got the message "Congratulation! Everything went fine" and when I clicked on the button "Install Piwigo now" at the bottom of the page, I got a 404 error.

I also tried Netinstall, but the same thing happened.

If you have any solution, could you tell me that?

Thanks,

Re: core/install.php is missing

IMHO there's nothing in the Piwigo package that would require or redirect to a core/ directory. Check your .htaccess or server setup.

Also I'm wondering about

saw a drop-down list for language selection.
On the next page, I got the message "Congratulation! Everything went fine" and when I clicked on the button "Install Piwigo now" at the bottom of the page, I got a 404 error.

because after the default gallery language selection there is no next page but it's all on one page and the "Start installation" button (not "Install Piwigo now") is on the very same page at the bottom after all the database and administration configuration fields to fill in, and a "congratulations" message shouldn't be displayed before the installation even starts..

I assume we're talking about self-hosted Piwigo 11.5.0 here as downloaded from https://piwigo.org/get-piwigo
But it sounds somewhat like you installed something different.

Re: core/install.php is missing

Thank you erAck, yes I tried self-hosted Piwigo 11.5.0 downloaded from https://piwigo.org/download/dlcounter.php?code=latest .

As it turns out, I reinstalled it again in a different directory, and the installation worked! Thanks to your advice "Check your .htaccess or server setup." and the information that there's no "core" directory in the Piwigo package.

The attached URLs are the screenshots which I took when the NetInstall had failed. The installation using the zip file had shown the same screen.
I think I saw this screen in the installation of previous version, but it was piwigo-11.5.0.zip that I tried to install. It's kinda mystery...

Thank you very much!

Re: core/install.php is missing

Apparently you only used the Netinstall, because the unzipped full version doesn't come with two screens before the actual installation, it's all in one installation screen, so "installation using the zip file had shown the same screen" as the Netinstall can't be right.

Anyhow, good it worked for you now.
