Hello,
I am trying to run Piwigo with docker-compose. I am using the latest image (11.5) and MariaDB.
The installation is fine, but every time I restart the container the installation screen re-appears. I have looked into the database and it is persisting fine; the data that gets written at installation is still there. It just does not seem to recognize it.
Appreciate any assistance.

Is the install directory still in place?

Yes, everything is in place, it just keeps landing on the installation page

You should remove the install directory when you are done. Just rename it to something other than install to see if that works. If it fixes the problem then you can delete the renamed directory.

I'm getting this same issue using a docker install on unRaid.
I run through the installation just fine. I can login and synch some photos.
When the docker restarts i'm presented with the install.php form again.
When I look at the docker config/appdata/piwigo folder I see webroot type folders but nothing that looks like a piwigo installation folder.
Did OP resolve their issue? I assume we have to mount a drive to save config files to somewhere?

For what it's worth the unRaid forums users had a fix for the docker scenario i had.
The CA app for piwigo doesn't automatically map the /gallery folder, which causes the configuration file to disappear when the docker is restarted .
