Rewrite Piwigo

Hello,

I am about to go ahead do it on my own and what I plan to do is rewrite Piwigo from scratch and make some changes and add these extensions will be built in as follows:

Community - It'll be renamed to User Management.
CDN - Will enable to use any CDN providers.
Favoicon/Logo - It'll be renamed to Homepage Settings.
Header/Footer - it will allow you to customize more easier to match your homepage layout.
Banners - If you have Adsense or others, you can add them.
Google Analytics - The online traffic tracker.
Languages - It'll only install English but will allow to install other languages.
SEO - New addon, allows you to turn on and rename image file to make SEO friendly.
Image Manager - new improved option allows you to display what photos you want.
Comment - new improved comments system with HTML markdown and visual editor.
S3 Storage - If you want to use cloud storage providers, this will.
Import/Export - Allows you to import from other galleries or export to save it.

Wish me luck and this will be my big challenge. Any other feature request you want to see that shall be built in.

Timeline to complete: 3 months (due to building, testing, etc). Once finished, will release demo for everyone to try before I release it to the public for download.

From my understanding, this will NOT be a upgrade from your current piwigo version, it'll be a separate version. More details to come ...

Thanks!

Re: Rewrite Piwigo

I'd like to do something like a rewrite also. Was thinking of fpc and lazarus-qt5 for tools. For a cobol programmer that got fairly deep fairly quickly.

So, I wish you well.

So, have you released any version to the public? Can we have a link?
