Stripped Responsive, unable to prevent category/album from showing up

Hello/Hi/Greetings,

Environment:
running piwigo 13.1.0 on nginx with php8.1-fpm. Relevant installed plugins are LocalFiles Editor, GDThumb, and PWG Stuffs. As stated in title, the stripped-responsive theme is used with interface set to "black"

I have one single category/album where every picture lands. the images get tags and visitors are supposed to browse through the photos by those.

What I'm trying to achieve:
I want two blocks from PWG Stuffs to be displayed on the front/main/home page, one with general info about the site and another one with some selected pictures as "appetiser" (and ofc to transport this is a site centered around my photography).

The issue:
As I do not intend my visitors to directly interact with the "pool album", I don't want it to show up on the home page. But so far every approach I tried either had no effect at all or led to undesired side effects.
Apparently the display of the albums section is handled by a template from the GDThumb plugin instead of the theme template and/but I am unable to find either the call that only handles the albums or a CSS handle that will only affect the display of albums/categories. So far I only managed to suppress any display of thumbnails anywhere on the page or the album display being utterly unimpressed by my doings.

One way I found was to turn off what is called "Main block" in PWG stuffs, but unfortunately that also handles the arrangement of elements to display on the home page and I wasn't able to separate those two purposes.

I'm thankful for any hints at this point that would lead me into the right direction on solving this.

Edit: Setting the album to private also disables the pictures from being accessible to (guest) visitors, so this isn't an option in my case.

Hello.
You can do this by using the Additional Pages plugin.

Hello ! The plugin AdditionnalPages needs an update to work with Piwigo 13x and php 8x. Presently, one cannot create nor edit any page.

Yes. it needs updating for me to be able to use it, which is the exact reason I went the PWG Stuffs route.

Re: Stripped Responsive, unable to prevent category/album from showing up

I was able to solve this. It's not elegant but it works.

I have set div#subcontent to display: none; in the custom CSS, which *should* only prevent the element with the albums from being displayed, though for some odd reason it will also cause the thumbnails in a following "Random Pictures" or "Recent Pictures" block from PWG Stuffs to be hidden. Some JavaScript will persistently set the height of the list elements in those block to 0, even when manually editing it in the browser inspection tool.
I have found the culprit to be in plugins/GDThumb/js/jquery.ba-resize.min.js and after deactivation of the only present function in this file it works for me as desired and I couldn't find any negative side effects (so far), but with different settings YMMV on this, so I intentionally do not recommend this as standard solution.
