Protecting piwigo with some authentication

Greetings,

I have deployed piwigo with a docker container and the frontend is publicly available.  I wanted to use 2FA but this doesn't seem to work in the way I want it too.  I also tried to use authelia but then my iphone app will not upload photos.  Does anyone have any other ideas on how to secure access to the frontend?
