Hello
I want to get an url to an image on my secure gallery. This link would work like any other link to an image on the internet on a public site. In other words, it would override the Piwigo security and display the image (on a different public site where I would include the link).
Is there a way to do this? I have tried just right-clicking in my gallery and choosing copy image link, but the copied link does not display an image elsewhere.

I have never done this on a completely closed site. But it is quite possible with the private images of a mixed site, where in the same album one can find private and public images. To get the real url of the picture, I use in Firefox the contextual menu "open image in a new tab". And I can pick then the url in the address bar to use it in the other sites.

There are some plug-ins that allow sharing of private albums or photos without a login:
- [extension by plg] Private Share
- [extension by petitssuisses] Share Album
But not sure they allow for an img link that would work embedded in another site.

Look here : this photo is private on the original site : https://agora.chauvigne.info/viewtopic. … 3630#p3630
You cannot see it if not logged in this album : https://balades.comoni.org/index?/category/16-luberon

I didn't log into the album on original site, but I see the photo on the forum page. It's a big green car :)

Thanks Katryne, that works for me.
Edit: I spoke too soon - must have been cached. Now your method doesn't work for me unfortunately.

Private share does work well for what it does, but (as you suspected) the link that is generated goes to a page, rather than downloading/embedding an image (on another website). So it is not suitable for my current purposes (but useful nonetheless for other purposes, so thanks).
