I finally tracked down what was breaking the mobile app. In at least the Android mobile app, as soon as I login I get "Error No Data". What I figured out was breaking it is I have $conf['derivative_default_size'] = 'large'; set in the config and then I unchecked the box for Medium pictures. If I go back and recheck the box for Medium the app starts working again. I didn't want the Mediums, wanted the Large instead which is why I changed it.
