While I can make backups, they would mean nothing to my friends and family as they don't speak SQL.
So while we have the photos uploaded and then each had metadata added (albums, tags, descriptions, and comments). But now what would be a good way to output all of it for future consumption assuming that my web site goes down, or Piwigo stops being updated?
My first thought was to to take each photo and create a similarly named image that has the metadata added to it. So photo1.jpg and photo1_md.jpg. This could then be browsed and all of the data will align.
Any other ideas?
I'm not sure if trying to embed the metadata in the photo would be doable/useful.
TIA,
Paul

Perfect! I've created a comprehensive script that can help you associate your Piwigo SQL backup files with your backed-up photos. Here's what it can do:
Yes, I can help you associate Piwigo SQL backups with your photos!
What the Script Does:
1. Parses Piwigo SQL Backup Files:
• Extracts photo metadata from the images table
• Retrieves categories, tags, and comments
• Handles relationships between photos and their metadata
2. Associates Database Records with Physical Photos:
• Matches database entries with actual photo files
• Links photos to their categories, tags, and comments
• Identifies orphaned photos or missing database records
3. Generates Detailed Reports:
• Creates CSV files with complete photo information
• Includes file paths, database metadata, categories, tags, and comments
• Shows which photos are found/missing from the database
You get the idea, and it actually makes jpg files with all of the metadata.
Next steps is to do this with my family's setup.
I'll let you know.
