Fatal Error after move from cPanel to Siteground

Hello Piwigo Folks,

Moved some sites including a couple with Piwigo installs from a cPanel server to Siteground GoGeek hosting. Got it all moved, copied data into new database, updated database.inc.php with new info, but not working at all.

Piwigo is latest version. Any ideas what could be the problem? See below for hosting info and Siteground feedback.

Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in /home/customer/www/linkpro.net/public_html/piwigo/include/dblayer/functions_mysql.inc.php:23 Stack trace: #0 /home/customer/www/linkpro.net/public_html/piwigo/include/common.inc.php(120): pwg_db_connect('localhost', 'ugshb8xjmmf7m', ')p#oe~2Y6ks[', 'dbchu7dd55eeof') #1 /home/customer/www/linkpro.net/public_html/piwigo/index.php(11): include_once('/home/customer/...') #2 {main} thrown in /home/customer/www/linkpro.net/public_html/piwigo/include/dblayer/functions_mysql.inc.php on line 23

I can't copy the environment details since Piwigo is unreachable, but

I chatted with Siteground support, they reviewed the database connection info and it was correct in database.inc.php

The chat ended abruptly with this as there final word.

Yoan-Slav K.: Okay, I reviewed the case further and it appears the installation is attempting to use the mysql_connect() function which was was removed in PHP 7.0, as our PHP setup goes back to 7.3, I would suggest looking into updating the application and then uploading it again, ensuring it is compatible with our PHP versions here, as 7.3 for example is quite outdated.

Damon Linkous: Piwigo is at the current version and is supposed to work up to PHP 8.2

Yoan-Slav K.: That is strange, I really would love to assist further, but from here, it would be best if you double-check with our experts via Services -> Expert Care or a professional developer who can review this further for you.

Re: Fatal Error after move from cPanel to Siteground

Never figured out the actual issue, but after uploading all new files overwriting the existing, manually clearing _data/cache and _data/combined piwigo works.

Sort of, there is still an issue I don't remember having before.
The site loads at
https://linkpro.net/piwigo/index.php
But it doesn't load at
https://linkpro.net/piwigo/
and all the links have to include index.php else I get a 404 error.
