Hi,
just a guess:
Try changing php version to 7.4
Although Piwigo itself is compatible with php8, some themes and plugins are not.

Check if you can do any outbound connections from PHP. See [Forum, post 180108 by erAck in topic 31104] Check for update failed for unknown reasons..

Hi
I have the same issue.
apologies for my ignorance, but how does one change the PHP version? I can't find it in the admin console.
I am on PHP 8.0.30 - but pretty sure Piwigo bumped up to that for me.
Kind regards
Phil

Hello,
I have a similar problem:
https://piwigo.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=34471
I tested the outbound connections from PHP as mentioned and this works fine.
The problem is on all of my three websites.
The host (Strato Germany) says, that there is nothing wrong.
I am using PHP 8.1.33
Could it maybe help to switch to a newer PHP-Version?

I'm running 8.3 and for testing switched back to 8.31 without problems.

Thanks for your answer, gueba!
I changed PHP to a newer version, but the problem still exists.
It seems to be a problem at the webhoster (Strato).
A friend of mine has the same problem with his Piwigo-website at Strato.
I will call them again, maybe they can fix this.

The connection to the server is now working.
The webhoster fixed the problem!
