User Permission Questions
Hello/Hi/Greetings,
I'm new to Piwigo. I'm incrementally getting things closer to what I want, but some basic things are escaping me.
I'm trying to create a multi-user gallery. Each user will get their own Community folder, where they should have full access to everything they upload. Everything not in or under their own folder will be view-only. The gallery as a whole will be private (not accessible to the public).
The latest problems I'm tripping over:
Users cannot edit their own photos.
However, they can edit (add tags at least) photos not belonging to them.
Should users be able to fully edit their own stuff? And should it be possible to prevent any edits to others' stuff?
If so, please point me in an appropriate direction.

Hi,
I quote: "The Community plugin allows users of your gallery to create albums and add photos. As an option, administrators can moderate submissions. Users with permission to add photos can be considered as "contributors".
I use it on my private family gallery.
In the settings (Configuration tab), you may check "User allbums".
Moreover, you can manage permissions precisely in the "Upload Permissions" tab.
Another plugin I use is Admin Tools, I check "Give access to quick edit to photo owners even if they are not admin".

Thank you for your reply.
I did discover the Community plugin early on, and it does allow user uploads. However, what I can't figure out is how to let users edit, document, etc., their own photos. That's what I'm looking for. (Secondarily, let them view but not edit other users' photos.)
Other options you mentioned I'm not finding. No "user albums" on the Configuration tab. Likewise, "Upload Permissions".
I did install and enable Admin Tools, but it does not seem to have had any effect, at least not with regard to existing photos.
Perhaps I'm missing other plugins that you use?

Perhaps something is missing in Albums>Manage or Users>Manage.

Bingo! I misunderstood what you meant by the (Community) Configuration tab. And I totally missed the Admin Tools toolbar.
