I would like to help out!

Hello,

I'd love to help with the development of PWG. I've been impressed by it and would like to contribute whatever I can. Is there a place that I can find a list of features that are needed and the coding standards / guidelines used?

Hi Peter,

In addition to VDigital, my questions are:

In the coding domain, which kind of features would be interested in? technical? graphical? functionnal? around the metadata or tags or category management ? Just tell us :-)

What are your technical skills you would like to use to contribute?

Re: I would like to help out!

Hi Guys,

Thanks so much for this great piece of software :)

I'm currently 25 and I graduated from George Mason University last semester with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Math. Right now, I'm in China studying Chinese.

As far as work experience goes, I've worked at two telecommunication companies doing test automation. In addition, I worked for the DOD (department of defense) as a co-op for a couple of semesters. Currently I'm doing free-lance programming and 3D art work. I'm planning on becoming an English teacher to IT professionals and possibly do some Chinese to English translation work or training for computer companies in China.

I use Linux extensively so I'm familiar with Open Source software and a big supporter of it. In addition, my brother and I worked together on an open source project, but we stopped because school got too busy.

I've programming in a bunch of different languages and am familiar with PHP, MySQL and the OOP mindset. I've also worked with both Mantis and Dokuwiki.

I'd be willing to contribute in coding, documentation, testing, artwork, web design, or program / database design.

My website is: http://www.LinuxLefty.com and my PWG photo album is on my website. I've just about ported all the pictures from my previous coppermine installation into PWG, but I still haven't skinned it, etc.

So, basically I'm available to help out in whatever areas are needed. I love programming and program design, but I can help out in any area that's needed. Just let me know :) .

Re: I would like to help out!

Impressive :-)

You seem to be a perfect candidate for entering the project team :-) Would it suit you?

The only problem we currently have is that we internally communicate in french only (as we are all french speaker). It doesn't mean we can't change this, and we'll probably do that quite soon I hope.

As a start point, I suggest you to find some bugs in the bugtracker and propose the patch in the bugtracker (send me an email so that I apply your patch to the code). My email is "plg" on this website domain name.

While searching in the bugtracker for some bugs you could work on, I see that you already fixed a bug you surely have encountered yourself bug 820.

You can look at bugs : 533, 789, 780, 653 (this one looks like your bug 820)

Re: I would like to help out!

I would be honored to join the team :)

There's always babelfish, so as long as you guys don't mind bad automated translations, it should be okay.

I'll start taking a look at the bugtracker and start squashing those bugs.
