Is there a way to place a thumb nail picture to represent a video category and/or a specific video instead of just having the file name of the video shown in the category.

Please reference to the pictures "Image 1" and "Image 2".

Any help would be great.

Yes, in the thumbnails directory put a file with the same not that the video.

Example :

example.avi
-> thumbnails directory
->example.jpg

Attached images: Charlies.flv video and TN-Charlies.jpg thumbnail in its thumbnail directory

Don't forget to REsynchronized to get any later thumbnails !!!

That worked as to cover up the video file name 1.wmv. :)

The only draw back is that it added a picture to my video library,
Is there a way to stop the extra picture from showing?

as an example please see image "1" below.

I figured it out after thinking a bit more.

I forgot to delete the .jpg file from the
folder with the .flv files.

Even if it is working for you, think to convert your wmv file in flv for a better web covering.

I've read the instruction about adding the thumbnail for the video. Added a video named as Trailer.flv and added a thumbnail to thumbnail directory inside this video directory by renaming it as TN-Trailer.jpg. But there is still something wrong with showing up the thumbnail.

And I looked for the image address of thumbnail inside of the page and I got link address for the unavailable thumbnail as (...theme/Sylvia/icon/mimetypes/flv.png). I know that I may just add a flv.png, but in this case it would be the same picture for all the rest videos.

Have you active and install [extension by jdd] Charlies' content too ?
