with Google's Motion Stills app you can turn them into animated GIFs or Videos. https://get.google.com/motionstills/


I don't think there is any support for animated GIFs in Piwigo, but you can use the Video either through piwigo-videojs or a theme that supports video.

would animated gif's pose an issue for piwigo?  could they just be added to the allowed files type?
