Hello experts
I am completely new here and I wonder if piwigo is suitable to fulfil my wish. Years ago I made a website for my students and this website has been visited 30,000 times. As a result of the privacy law I want to prevent malicious people from being able to access the website and so I want to put a lock on it. I am not concerned about parts of the site, but I would like my former pupils to be able to view the whole site. Therefore I would like them to receive a message at the opening that they should send me an email with their details so I can check if they really have been former pupils of my school. Is it then possible to grant access to the whole site?
Because I regularly backup I don't need an extra address in the cloud, but I only want to manage access.
Thank you in advance for your much appreciated help.

Yes. Just type a message in the gallery banner. Piwigo support privacy levels for users.
There is a tutorial plugin that will walk you through the process.

Depending on your host system you may also look at htaccess, for apache its pretty easy to set up and it protects your entire site with a username/Password at one level above piwigo.
