Same auth as WordPress?

Hello/Hi/Greetings,

as Wordpress is the most common CMS, it might me worth a look.
I found some WP plugins for Piwigo that allow to integrate (public?) galleries or insert media from pwg galleries into WP.

However I don't need an integration but rather a common user base.
For my users, I'd like them to log in with one single account into both systems, so they don't have to register twice.

So my question is: Is there any way to use the same ... database table (?) or even log-in procedure?
It would be really awesome if there was a way to have a common log in and user management!

Has anyone ever done this?

Re: Same auth as WordPress?

Searching the forum for wordpress authentication revealed
a) an oldish hackery [Forum, topic 26823] Piwigo and WordPress Login Integration / Bridge apparently abandoned.
b) a plugin in [Forum, topic 31401] Single Sign On to Piwigo from your Wordpress account of which the GitHub repo seems stalled except the initial commit, but maybe it just works, who knows.. (but you already commented in that thread).

You might find more playing with search terms, but I doubt there's a ready-made solution if above b) doesn't work.
