I am planning to update my gallery. This is my first attempt to update my piwigo.

Currently my setup like this

Operating system: Linux

MySQL: 5.5.68-MariaDB [2024-12-06 11:06:51]

Could is use auto update or better i go for manual update?

Why are you asking here about implementation of request in topic of Authorization?
I don't think Piwigo owner added this in current version. If that was your goal. I suspect that Piwigo owner still no reply in that topic because there are no resources (time/cash). Don't get me wrong, I also like the "confirmation" login on the Piwigo instance website via the Piwigo app. Yes, it's easier for the user than TOTP, but implementing this security feature for both apps is more difficult. Maybe suggest this feature as an idea for a future version (16?) of Piwigo if such a thread already exists. My advise: No decision on that topic from Piwigo owner you should to take as refusal even though it is a dismissive way.

Fwiw, if one uses the Content-Security-Policy (CSP) header, the Popin remote images to display need an entry

img-src data: https://ressources.piwigo.com

The entire img-src field for me now reads

img-src 'self' data: https://piwigo.org https://ressources.piwigo.com

(didn't investigate yet whether piwigo.org is actually still needed, it was at least for template sample screenshots, but maybe everything was moved to ressources now).
