Thanks for the work on #2616 I reported !
This will greatly help people to upload from a tablet and flash is hopefully not here anymore in few years.
No That would be very huge and problematic (keep filename? etc)
Very nice to use Html5 instead of flash for the upload.
Is it plan to mix the two folders /upload and /galleries to have all our pictures in one folder ?

Indeed, thanks. Doesn't look like the web API has changed at all. Good to know - no work for me ;-)

Are there any changes that might effect interface to third party programs (like Shotwell etc)? If yes, I would like to fix them in time before release!
Greetings,
Piwigo 2.7 is coming. Let's start with the first beta version. As usual with beta versions and release candidates, this version is for test only, so don't install it on your live website.
1) Changes
Here is the list of changes compared to Piwigo 2.6:

2 caches were added to improve speed performances on big galleries (ie 50,000+ photos):
* a "persistent cache" which stores in files the result of specific big queries
* a local storage cache in your web browser with lists of tags/albums/users/groups
Quick search was rewritten. It gives better results, especially on multiple words. You can also use advanced syntax such as filesize:>10mb (all tips provided in Batch Manager search filter help)
2) Screenshots
HTML5 upload means "no more Flash required" and that's really cool. Chunked uploads will bypass the upload_max_filesize limit. Drag & drop will make photo selection much easier from your file browser!
A search filter has been added to the Batch Manager. A guide gives you tips for advanced use.
You can now edit the time as well as the date on photos.
3) Start to beta test
Download Piwigo 2.7.0beta1
Please, open a new topic in the beta testing forum for each problem you may encounter.
Happy 2.7 beta testing!
