I have noticed that when I upload my photos and I have it set to re size my images and keep original that my re sized photos are darker then my originals are. Is there something I can do so it doesn't alter my photos except for the size?
Thanks

Hi the-outdoorsman,
pLoader performs a slight color and sharpness enhancement on resized photos. I personally really appreciate it, the difference between "raw resize" and "resize + enhancement" is nice.
Can you select a photo from your collection where the darkness difference is visible and give us a link?

After looking at my images I think that my larger photo just looks lighter because I see more detail in the photo. After comparing diiferent parts of the photo I think it isn't any darker after all. Sorry for the false alarm.

No problem the-outdoorsman, I've set your topic as "resolved" (you can do it by yourself, just click on "set this topic as resolved" link at the bottom right of the first post)
I've asked ron to come and show the difference between a "simply resized" and a "resized with enhancements" photo.

I remember the resolved thing next time. That would be useful stuff to see the difference between simply resized and a resized with enhancements photo. Is there an option in ploader to do that one way or the other?

pLoader uses ImageMagick for resizing images. When the image is downsampled, it looses sharpness. The usual way to restore sharpness is to apply unsharp mask such as Lanczos algorithm. By default pLoader applyes a 10% sharpening by setting blur property to 0.9. You can set the blur property to cancel unsharp mask or set it to a value greater than 1 to have a blurred effect.
Below are the same image resized with a 0.9 and a 1.0 blur factor.
