How do I save changes in metadata (e.g. caption) to the original file
I am hoping to use windows live gallery to assign names and captions to my photos (b/c it is very easy for my girlfriend to use). However, after the pictures are uploaded to Piwigo, I know there will be times when we want to reword the caption. Where would the new caption be stored? In the Piwigo database or the file?
If it is in the database? Are there any ways to sync the database with what's in the files?

In Piwigo database only. Piwigo doesn't write metadata into photo files.

There has been a project for this feature, see [extension by Eric B] Tags2File / Export Image Metadata (but it's not compatible with Piwigo 2.2, maybe it would be easy to upgrade)
