It does not show up in the 'Other Plugins Available' but you can download it and install it manually.

When it is installed it will show as not compatible, but it still works.

Personally I don't think the developers can be held responsible for testing and verifying all plugins for V2.4, that would be very time consuming and I'm sure they are busy enough with the core package.

Compatibility tests and development are the responsibility of the plugin developer - and some of them are no longer supporting development of their plugins

If users are desperate for a plugin they can just try them and see what happens. I have found 2 that should not work, but do and I'm sure there are others.

As with all developing web software such as this, I always set up a 'beta testing' version before making it live, and with Piwigo I have 2 copies of V2.4 running. One is the live version, the other a test version for checking out such things as plugins, upgrades etc.

this of course is fine, but the additional pages plugin has a functionality that is so obvious and fundamental that it is advertised as a feature on piwigo's own features page... !!

thus the second part of my question, why is this plugin not in core or core plugins or not keep properly up to date by default? if it's a feature of piwigo worth mention on the features page it should be kept updated.

sure i understand that, and i think piwigo is great, so thanks, but, as i said a couple of times now, this is such an obvious feature to have that it is metioned as available on the piwigo 'features' page... so it's a bit of a surprise it's not treated like a feature... is all.

anyways it is updated now so that's nice and thanks to whoever did it.

look at it from my point of view, i find the piwigo website, i read about it and i think 'that's nice' , one of the reasons i think 'that's nice' is on the features page it says the additional pages functionality is available and that is very useful to me.

so, 2.4 is the latest version,  i download it, install, create a few galleries, explore, but what's this ? one of the features i downloaded it for is not available because it's a plugin that hasn't been updated for 2.4. so then i must wonder why it's a valuable enough feature to advertise on the features page, but isn't kept updated when a new release is made. makes no sense.

anyway, like i said thanks for piwigo it looks good and i think i will likely use it. congrats to the developers.

Thought Zenphoto did not name Zenpage is an official plugin, actually it is.  :)
